Chris Finch wants more from Anthony Edwards after the Minnesota Timberwolves star struggled during their 99-88 Game 1 loss against the Golden State Warriors last night.

“It starts with Ant,” Finch said about Edwards via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “I thought he struggled, and then you could just kind of see the light go out a little bit for a while.”
“What is there to talk about? You’re the leader of the team. You’ve got to come out and set the tone. If your shot is not going, you still have to carry the energy. If I’ve got to talk to guys about having the right energy coming into an opening second-round game, then we’re not on the same page,” he added.

Edwards finished with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and three steals on 9-for-22 shooting from the field. However, the 23-year-old swingman only recorded one point at halftime on 0-for-8 shooting, where the Minnesota Timberwolves trailed 44-31 at the break.
Minnesota Timberwolves hit new low during Game 1 vs. Golden State Warriors
The Minnesota Timberwolves had five days to prepare for the second round, but they looked extremely rusty against the Golden State Warriors yesterday. They only posted 31 points in the first two quarters, their lowest-scoring first half in franchise history.

According to SB Nation’s Andrew Carlson, before last night, the team’s lowest first-half output was 33 points in January 2015, when they had a starting lineup of Robbie Hummel, Thaddeus Young, Mo Williams, Gorgui Dieng, and Andrew Wiggins.
Minnesota fans hope this is an anomaly for the team, as they must shoot better in the next few games to be more competitive.
