Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert was absolutely manhandled by Nikola Jokic in Game 5 of their second-round matchup. To a certain extent, the same was the case on Sunday night as the Denver Nuggets big man dropped 34 points all over Gobert and the Wolves.
In the end, however, it did not matter. It was Minnesota who got the last laugh as they secured a series-clinching 98-90 Game 7 victory on Denver’s own home court.
Minnesota Timberwolves News: Charles Barkley Rips Rudy Gobert
For his part, however, Hall of Famer turned NBA on TNT analyst Charles Barkley did not like what he saw from Gobert, particularly in the first half. This is what led the former NBA MVP calling for Gobert’s benching after seeing Jokic throw the reigning Defensive Player of the Year around “like a damn rag doll.”

Brutal.
Rudy Gobert Reacts to Charles Barkley’s Diss
After the game, Gobert was informed about what Barkley had to say about him. The Wolves star took the high road and said that he doesn’t pay the comments any mind:
“I don’t watch these guys,” Gobert said. “… I’m glad coach didn’t listen to his advice.”

At the end of the day, what matters the most is that it’s Gobert who reigned supreme over Jokic. Say what you want about Jokic dominating Gobert, but ultimately, it’s the Timberwolves who are now headed to the Western Conference Finals to face off against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.
