Even though the Minnesota Timberwolves had their best run in around 20 years, their Conference Finals loss to Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks was still a heartbreaking moment. This prompted All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns to issue one promise that will have fans looking forward to next season.
After a single standout season playing for Kentucky, Towns was selected by Minnesota using the first pick in the 2015 Draft. Right from the get-go, the 7′ big man established himself as a capable scorer in the paint and beyond the arc. During his rookie campaign, the New Jersey native averaged 18.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game.

However, Minnesota’s inexperience in building a playoff-worthy roster and lack of passion from its core stars led the team towards mediocrity for close to eight years. It took the arrival of Rudy Gobert to elevate the team’s defense, Mike Conley to give the lineup a credible veteran presence, and former number one pick Anthony Edwards to provide a reliable scoring option for the team.
These factors came together well for Minnesota this season as the team finished the regular season with the third seed and a record of 56 wins and 26 losses. Unfortunately, Towns and the Wolves couldn’t get the job done against the Mavericks after eliminating the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets.
Minnesota Timberwolves Fans Receive Promise From Karl-Anthony Towns After NBA Playoffs Exit

Even after exiting the playoffs, Towns still made it a point to make his presence felt for Minnesota fans. This is exactly what the former Kentucky big man did in a video he posted on his official X account.

The Wolves’ Conference Finals appearance marked the furthest Towns has been in the playoffs. During that whole period, the four-time All Star and former Rookie of the Year averaged 19.1 points on 36 percent shooting from deep, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.

Although Minnesota’s front office will have a lot of work to do in the offseason, fans hope Towns and the team’s core will be back later this year. If they do, the franchise’s fanbase will expect them to surpass what they’ve done in this year’s playoffs.
