The Minnesota Timberwolves will continue to have Luka Garza in their fold after the team signed him to a two-year deal, per Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype:
The Minnesota Timberwolves signed Luka Garza to a two-year, $4.51 million, which includes a team option Year 2, league sources told @hoopshype.
Garza started his NBA career with the Detroit Pistons, who selected him in the second round (22nd overall) of the 2021 draft. After averaging 5.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 32 games played in his rookie season with the Pistons, Garza found his way to the Twin Cities. He has played his last two seasons with the Timberwolves and will now be preparing for his third year with the Western Conference franchise.

Although he is not expected to move the needle much for the Timberwolves, he provides insurance in the middle. He should continue to be behind Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Naz Reid in the pecking order of Minnesota’s frontcourt. His defense has been suspect in the NBA but his ability to get buckets on limited time is undeniable. In fact, Garza averaged 29.2 points per 36 minutes in the 2023-24 NBA regular season.
Minnesota Timberwolves’ Luka Garza was awesome in college

While Garza isn’t remotely a star in the NBA, he was absolutely one back in college.
In the four years he spent with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Garza averaged 18.2 points on 54.6 percent shooting from the floor and 36.7 percent from behind the arc. He won the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award two times and was the 2021 National College Player of the Year.
