NaLyssa Smith gushed with love as she received a very warm welcome by the Dallas Wings fans on Monday at the Mavericks’ GEM celebration. Smith is one of the latest joinees of WNBA’s Dallas Wings for the upcoming season. Before this, the 24-year-old power forward played for the Indiana Fever from 2022 to 2024.
Smith was traded to the Wings from the Indiana Fever as part of the team’s several moves during the offseason. In her previous season for the Indiana Fever, Smith managed a decent average of 10.6 points per game, grabbing 7.1 rebounds and assisting once in every matchup.
“Felt the love today 😢” Nalyssa Smith wrote on her post which showed a video clip from the event.
Before playing for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA, Nalyssa Smith was part of the Baylor Bears college basketball team from 2018 to 2022. In her time with the Baylor Bears, Smith managed to win the NCAA championship and also was named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team in her first season with the Indiana Fever.

As of now, NaLyssa Smith is resting during the WNBA offseason. She did sign a relief contract with the Mist basketball club in the premier season of the Unrivaled League, and appeared for the team in only one game against the Phantom BC. In that matchup, Smith’s role was quite limited and she did not see much action.
NaLyssa Smith’s Mist BC Out Of Unrivaled League After Lunar Owls Defeat
Even if she did not get a chance to play for the Mist basketball club much in this inaugural season, NaLyssa Smith still continued to have strong ties to the team, mainly because of her girlfriend DiJonai Carrington. The Mist basketball club was shown its way out of the tournament after losing abysmally to the Lunar Owls on Monday night.

The matchup was definitely electric, with both the co-founders of the tournament playing against each other with their respective teams. Breanna Stewart from the Mist BC and Napheesa Collier from the Lunar Owls founded the 3-on-3 tournament together in order to give female basketball players opportunities to play during the WNBA offseason.

Despite having Breanna Stewart play in their team, the Mist basketball club’s performance this season has been clearly sub-par. Meanwhile, the same cannot be said about the Lunar Owls, who have experienced only one defeat in the season. In terms of standings, the Lunar Owls are currently at the top of the table, while the Mist BC is ranked fifth.
