NBA Draft News: While it may be true that Bronny James has emerged as one of the biggest names heading into the 2024 NBA Draft, the truth of the matter is that there is no guarantee that the 19-year-old is actually going to be picked up by any team come June.
Bronny does have some NBA potential in him, but the fact of the matter is that most of his value also lies in how drafting him buys a team a ticket for the LeBron James sweepstakes.
NBA Draft News: Bronny James Is Not Ready for the NBA, Per Stephen A. Smith
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith does not believe that Bronny is prepared for life in the NBA — or at least this is what his sources believe. The renowned sports anchor revealed the harsh reality the former USC stud is living in right now as he chases his dream to turn professional:
“Everybody that I’ve spoken to says he’s not ready for the NBA,” Smith said. “… [They say] he should stay in college… They say the younger brother Bryce has more potential.”

That’s tough to hear, especially at a time when Bronny is doing everything he can to showcase his talents at the NBA Draft Combine.
Whatever the case may be, it does seem like Bronny is going to get his chance in the NBA one way or another. Once he does, it will no longer matter how he got there. This young man will be set out to prove the naysayers wrong, and that he is, indeed, worthy of a spot in an NBA roster.
