Just when it looked like the Houston Rockets were about to see their win streak come to an end on Monday night, Jabari Smith Jr. and company put up a fight and refused to go down against the Philadelphia 76ers at home.
Despite trailing by as many as 25 points, the Rockets pulled off a 144-137 overtime win to net their seventh victory in a row.
According to the NBA, the Rockets’ massive comeback victory tied a franchise record.
Via the NBA’s official X (formerly Twitter) account:
“The Rockets complete the 25-PT comeback and win in overtime 🚀🚀 It ties Houston’s largest comeback in the play-by-play era (1997-98)!!”

That post has left Rockets and NBA fans in general absolutely hyped and making all sorts of reactions.
“What a comeback! 🔥🚀 Houston never gave up! #ClutchCity,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “The sixers need to trade everyone and start over.”
From a commenter: “Rockets has made one of the greatest comeback against sixers! What a game.”
“They did the complete 25-PT COMEBACK MAD STUFF,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “What a wild game for the Rockets, A 25-point comeback is no joke, and pulling it off in overtime makes it even sweeter,Tying their largest comeback in the play-by-play era shows the grit and resilience of this young squad,”
Jalen Green and Smith were instrumental in the Rockets’ comeback, as they scored 30 points apiece. Green scored 22 points in the second half while Smith poured in 19 in that span as well. Meanwhile, Dillon Brooks and Tari Eason had 25 and 21 points, respectively, for the Rockets, who are now 44-25 on the season – good for the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference.
