In an interview Rodman discussed not having a father growing up and his life has been heavily influenced by his mother and sisters. He explained that he idolizes women and wanted to emulate them. He contiunes to be a fashion pioneer and inspire the current generation of NBA stars and their style.
Fashion has taken over the NBA
Fast forward to 2024, basketball players are now attending fashion shows and collabroating with designers to create a strong presence on and off the court. One of the more recent deals is the NBA has partnered with Skims, Kim Kardashians’ underwear line.
For the past few years GQ Sports has been hosting a competition where people vote on who they believe is that years most stylish NBA player. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won that title for two years in a row until this year he was beaten out by Malik Monk.
During an interview at the New York Fashion Week Monk talked about his influences for fashion and if anyone would have him he would love to be apart of a fashion show. Monk mentions his publishist mainly picks out his outfits and then he decides what goes and stays.
Fashion lovers and basketball super fans both can appreciate the tunnel walk. With players displaying their creativity and style it gives us a better sense of who they are off of the court.
