The Golden State Warriors have turned things around following the acquisition of All-Star forward Jimmy Butler. Despite not being a reliable outside shooter, Butler has fit in well with the organization, helping them improve to a 37-28 record in the West.
With their recent play, there’s been a change in how they’d like to end their 2024-25 NBA season. It started with star forward Draymond Green, who claimed that the Warriors would win the 2025 championship because of Butler. Green went viral after his statement during the broadcast of the All-Star Game in San Francisco.

Since then, they’ve continued their winning ways, and even their franchise superstar, Stephen Curry, has the confidence that the team can win the title.
NBA News: Curry explains the Warriors’ confidence to compete for the championship
It’s one thing to express confidence in being a title-contending team. However, it’s different when a group has trust with each other that they can win it all.
On Wednesday, that’s what Curry explained in his appearance at 95.7 The Game’s “Steiny & Guru.”
“Absolutely. That’s why we’re juiced to be in this position,” Curry said when asked if he still believes the Warriors can win the championship. “How many teams think they can win it right now? Probably eight to ten? I like the idea that we can confidently say on a night-to-night, we can figure how to beat anybody.
Steiny: “Do you guys really think you can win it?”

The four-time champion said their experience sets them apart from other teams that aspire to win the title.
“You think about experience. For us, we have that experience on our side. We have a good balance of veteran presence and youthful energy… Me, Draymond and Jimmy, we’ve all been around, we know what it’s like to be in a playoff series, to have to figure out that specific opponent and how to beat them four times.”
Buddy Hield wished the Golden State Warriors traded him and not Andrew Wiggins

While it was a difficult decision for the Golden State Warriors, they still included Andrew Wiggins in the five-team deal that allowed them to acquire Butler. On Buddy Hield’s recent radio appearance, he explained why he wished he was the one who should’ve gotten traded.
“When guys were traded, it was a rough day for [Warriors coach Steve Kerr],” Hield said on Wednesday. “Especially with Wiggs, it was emotional in that locker room. I was even more emotional because I wish it was me that got traded because Wiggs did so much for this franchise. For a guy like that, I hated to see him go like that because he’s done so much for this franchise.”
With the Warriors, Wiggins became an All-Star and helped the franchise win the championship in 2022. He’s beloved by many for what he did for the team and has left a lasting impact.
