The Phoenix Suns have submitted their injury report for their Saturday game against the Detroit Pistons. The Suns won’t have All-Star guard Devin Booker on the active list as he deals with a left groin soreness. Their game against the Pistons is the first game Booker will miss in the 2024-25 NBA season.
Booker has tried his best to remain healthy in the new campaign. However, the injury bug found a way to affect his availability. Suns insider Duane Rankin posted the injury update for the team ahead of the conclusion of their three-game homestand.
Aside from Booker, guard Collin Gillespie has also been listed as out as he recovers from a right ankle fracture. Big man Bol Bol is also on the injury list but is tagged as “questionable” because of a left knee contusion.
Following the Suns’ 120-111 loss against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, Kevin Durant spoke about his running mate getting hurt. KD wasn’t pleased with Booker’s injury status but had no choice but to accept the fact that injuries are a part of the game.
“Sucks,” Durant said. “We hate that injuries can get in the way of beautiful basketball, the game of basketball. It’s a part of it, but it’s still tough to take. So hopefully Book gets better by the hour and we’ll see how he feels in the next couple of days and move on from there.”

The Suns are looking to improve the 14-12 record this season and Booker’s injury isn’t helping. However, the team is hopeful that his absence won’t be long and that he’ll return soon.
Suns head coach gave an update on Devin Booker’s injury following the loss against the Pacers
Devin Booker played 25 minutes of action for the Suns against the Pacers. However, he had to exit the game in the third quarter after sustaining a groin injury. The four-time All-Star didn’t return and finished with 17 points and six assists on 5-for-10 shooting from the field.
Following the loss, Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer gave a brief update on when Booker sustained the injury.
“We talked a little bit about it in the back. He doesn’t remember a play or know exactly when or where it happened, but I’m pretty sure it was some time early in the third quarter.”
