Even if Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns find a way to ultimately make the NBA Play-in Tournament and/or the NBA Playoffs in the 2024-25 campaign, it’s fair to say that, so far, his time with the team hasn’t lived up to expectations.
Durant still has a year left on his current contract, but given how things have gone for him and the Suns, there’s a good reason to expect that Phoenix will look to move him in the upcoming NBA offseason.
The future Basketball Hall of Famer reportedly garnered interest ahead of this year’s trade deadline but ultimately did not get sent elsewhere.

Will the Suns trade Kevin Durant in the offseason?

Meanwhile, ESPN NBA insider Shams has recently named five teams that could be in play for a Kevin Durant trade in the summer.
“Back at the NBA trade deadline in February, Minnesota, Miami, New York, San Antonio and Houston were among the team, I’m told, there was mutual interest between Durant and those teams,” Charania told Maika Andrews. “I expect those teams and potentially other to be back in the fray this summer.”
At 36 years old, Durant’s window to win one more NBA title is getting smaller. However, he is still pretty much someone who could boost any team’s chances to win an NBA title even if the Suns have struggled to win games even with him on the roster.
So far in the 2024-25 campaign, the former NBA Most Valuable Player is averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 52.7 percent from the field and 43.0 percent from deep.
