Both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic boast elite talent on the offensive end of the court, making them pretty hard to guard in the NBA. For Houston Rockets’ Dillon Brooks, though, there’s one more guy who’s tougher than the two stars.
Brooks entered the league when he was drafted by the Houston Rockets in the 2017 NBA Draft. Shortly after, he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies and played six seasons for the team.
During his time with the Grizzlies, Brooks emerged as a solid two-way player, earning NBA All-Defensive Second Team honors in 2023. He was known for his tenacious defense and his ability to contribute offensively, averaging over 16 points per game in the 2019-20 season.
In 2023, Brooks was traded to the Houston Rockets, where he has continued to play a key role for the team. He has also represented the Canadian national team, being named the FIBA World Cup Best Defensive Player in 2023 after helping the team win a bronze medal.
Throughout his professional career, Brooks has shown his versatility as a player, capable of contributing in multiple ways on the court. He has become a valuable asset for his teams, and his dedication to the game and his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor have made him a respected player in the NBA.

Nembhard was the Indiana Pacers’ 31st pick last season and proved to be an important part of the Tyrese Haliburton-led team. During the playoffs, the rookie guard averaged 14.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 5.5 assists.
Apart from showing off for Indiana a couple of months ago, Nembhard has the chance to do the same for Canada on the global stage. Fortunately, Brooks has his back as a teammate when they go up against various countries in the Olympics.
