NBA news: Two-time All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas has been through quite a lot — both in his NBA career and in his life. The 35-year-old finished the season with the Phoenix Suns after signing with the team in the middle of the campaign, but he is now set to enter NBA free agency in the summer.
In a recent post on X, formerly Twitter, Thomas revealed a near-death experience as he almost got killed in a shocking encounter.
NBA News: Isaiah Thomas Had Gun Pulled on Him

Thomas did not go into much detail as he shared his story on X. All the 5-foot-9 guard said was that he just went through what he calls a “life-changing moment” after a young man pulled an AK-47 assault rifle on him and his friends:
“Had a life changing moment yesterday where a kid pulled a AK47 out on me and the homies.”

According to Thomas, he would probably have been dead by now if the kid didn’t recognize him as a professional basketball player.

It is unclear as to how Thomas got into such a dire situation in the first place, but what cannot be denied is that this has left the NBA veteran questioning what the world has come to these days.
It’s just good to hear that Thomas and his buddies came out of this incident unscathed. Otherwise, we would all be reading about an entirely different and tragic narrative.

Thomas is currently entering Year 12 of his career where he will hope to do well enough in the offseason to sign with any team out there that would have him. Last season, he made just six appearances with the Suns, averaging 1.3 points in 3.2 minutes per contest.
