NBA news: Former Toronto Raptors power forward Jontay Porter recently made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The 6-foot-11 forward, who is the younger brother of Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr., was recently banned by the NBA for supposedly tanking games in order to fulfill prop bets.
Right now, the 24-year-old is about to feel the full wrath of his decisions.
NBA News: Jontay Porter Facing Felony Charges

According to a report by Kyle Schnitzer of the New York Post, Porter is now being linked to the betting ring that was supposedly behind the scheme that saw Porter purposely tank his stats in Toronto’s games against the Los Angeles Clippers and the Sacramento Kings on January 26 and March 20, respectively.
“Former Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter will plead guilty on July 10 after he appeared on a Brooklyn Federal Court docket Wednesday, in what ties him for the first time to the alleged betting ring that Porter’s tanked gameplay made happen.
“The filing indicates that federal prosecutors are seeking felony charges against Porter, 24, in connection with four defendants charged in the betting scheme last month,” Schnitzer wrote.

Schnitzer’s report further indicates that Porter tipped off the aforementioned defendants to make prop bets or over/under wagers which saw one of them profit as much as $1.13 million.
It is unclear how much Porter pocketed for his role in the supposed scheme, but it is clearly not worth the trouble he is now facing.
Not only is his NBA career over, but he is now looking at the possibility of jail time because of his crimes.
