NBA news: After a memorable 12-year NBA career, Charlotte Hornets icon Kemba Walker is calling it quits. The 34-year-old took to X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday to officially announce his retirement from professional basketball.
Unsurprisingly, Walker could not help but get a little bit emotional in his farewell statement.

Walker spent most of his career in Charlotte, which is where he earned three of his four career All-Star nods. In eight seasons with the Bobcats/Hornets, the 6-foot point guard produced career averages of 19.8 points on 41.8 percent shooting, 3.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
Walker holds multiple franchise records for the Hornets, including minutes played, field goals made, and field goals attempted (both two- and three-point attempts). He is the franchise’s all-time leading scorer with 12,009 points to his name. For context, Dell Curry is second on the list with 9,839 points.
After parting ways with Charlotte, the former Uconn star also had stints with the Boston Celtics, the New York Knicks, and finally, the Dallas Mavericks during the 2022-23 season. Walker was not in the NBA last season, opting to play abroad in France.
