LeBron James has nothing more to prove in basketball. But at 40 years old, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is still facing much criticism for even mundane reasons despite playing better than any player of his age (or older) in the history of the NBA.
He is still regarded as the best player on a big-market, playoff-contending team so far in the 2024-25 NBA regular season.

Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx, who won an Oscar for his work in “Ray,” has come to “The King’s” defense with fiery comments defending the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player.
“40,000 points over 20 years of play carrying this bum [expletive] league on his shoulders, ungrateful,” Foxx wrote in a comment on Instagram.
“If he came up with a cure for cancer, they would say yeah but what about diabetes?” Foxx wrote in a separate comment.

Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James gets support from Jamie Foxx

Foxx’s comments came on the heels of James speaking out against how negative many fans and several pundits have been about the NBA today, with some even interpreting the Lakers forward’s statement as another attempt to bring attention to himself.
In any case, the main focus for James is to help the Lakers win another title, which they seem to have a fair chance of doing, based on their being one of the top teams in the Western Conference at the moment.
