After playing 10 seasons in the NBA, Oklahoma City Thunder’s former shooting guard Jeremy Lamb has announced his retirement. This has led basketball fans to take a look at his career and wonder what exactly happened to him.
Lamb was selected 12th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. He was immediately traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he spent the first three years of his professional career to play with Kevin Durant and company. During this time, he had several assignments with the Thunder’s D-League affiliate, the Tulsa 66ers. In his second season, he set a then-career high with 22 points against the Rockets. The following year, he recorded his first career double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
In 2015, Lamb was traded to the Charlotte Hornets, where he played for the next four seasons alongside former point guard Kemba Walker. He signed a 3-year, $21 million contract extension with the team in 2015. The shooting guard had his most productive NBA campaign with the Hornets, averaging over 12 points per game in three consecutive seasons.
In 2019, Lamb signed with the Indiana Pacers as a free agent. He played there for three seasons, providing perimeter scoring and defense off the bench. Prior to the 2022-23 season, he signed with the Sacramento Kings, where he played briefly before being waived. He last played for the Stockton Kings in the G League before announcing his retirement.

He became a free agent that offseason but remained unsigned until the Kings briefly re-signed him for training camp in 2023. he was ultimately waived and joined the Stockton Kings of the G League, where he played until suffering a season-ending ankle injury in March.
