Real Madrid just reached the promised land when they defeated Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League recently. Among the many personalities who congratulated the team for their big win are NBA stars Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid.
Even though Borussia Dortmund played so much conviction to win the championship, Real Madrid still stood out as the better team. Thanks to a pair of late goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinícius Júnior, the team left London with a record-setting 15th European Cup.
Dortmund defender Ian Maatsen ended the game in a frustrating manner after he failed to deflect Carvajal’s header. Minutes later, he also failed in preventing Vinícius from scoring another goal, which sealed his team’s fate in the Champions League.
After the final whistle Madrid fans went on a stupor as their team won. The last time they lost in a European Cup final was way back in 1981 when Liverpool won over them with a score of 1-0. Since then, the club has won a total of 15 victories, including a run of nine consecutive wins, during the last 43 years.

Both the Dallas Mavericks’ point guard and Philadelphia 76ers’ big man are big soccer fans. Furthermore, Milwaukee Bucks’ All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is also a fan of the sport by supporting Arsenal and become a part-time owner of Major League Soccer club Nashville SC.
In turn, Real Madrid congratulated the Western Conference Finals MVP in a post on X for helping the Mavericks reach the NBA Finals. In many ways, this synergy between the two sports is refreshing to see.
