Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis updated fans on his injury recovery. Davis has remained sidelined since straining his left adductor in his Mavericks debut against the Houston Rockets on Feb. 8, raising questions about when he will return.
During an interview with basketball reporter Dorothy Gentry on Sunday, Davis shared an optimistic update on his recovery, reassuring Dallas fans about his progress.

“Working every single day. As soon as I get back on the floor, I’m going to bring that same energy I brought in the first game that I played,” said the newest member of the Dallas Mavericks.

Anthony Davis nearing a full recovery is a promising sign for the Dallas Mavericks. Before his injury, he put up an impressive 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks, showcasing his two-way dominance. His presence is vital to the team’s championship aspirations. Now, the priority for Dallas is ensuring he returns at full strength and stays healthy as the season progresses.
In the meantime, the Mavericks will rely on Kyrie Irving, and Klay Thompson and others to step up. The team’s performance has been inconsistent, going 4-4 since Davis’ injury, but they must stay resilient as they push for a playoff spot.
The Dallas Mavericks dealing with the injury bug

Meanwhile, PJ Washington’s injury status has been somewhat of a mystery in recent weeks. He has been managing an ankle issue since mid-February and has been listed as questionable for every game since the All-Star break. Before Thursday’s matchup against the Hornets, head coach Jason Kidd admitted the concern level was “high.”
What’s really going on? Only the Mavericks’ medical staff knows for sure. The team has yet to provide details beyond Washington’s ankle soreness, leaving his status uncertain. As Dallas fights for a playoff spot, his presence would be a major boost, but they may prioritize his full recovery, even if it means more time on the sidelines.

Dallas sits at 32-29, currently holding the 10th seed in the Western Conference. They are tied with the Kings and trail the Timberwolves and Warriors by just half a game. Up next, the Mavericks return home to face Sacramento on Monday night at 8:30 p.m. ET.
