Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards recently shared he doesn’t want to be the next face of the NBA.

At age 23, Edwards boasts a solid CV. He is already a three-time NBA All-Star, a one-time member of the All-NBA Second Team, and an Olympic Gold medalist. Edwards is the de facto no. 1 option for the Minnesota Timberwolves, especially after the team traded Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks last summer.
He is also not the type to shy away from the spotlight, although he has gotten into trouble lately with the league with his on-court antics and cussing habit.

Edwards is putting up solid numbers this season, averaging 27.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.2 steals on 44/41/84 shooting clips across 58 starts.
Minnesota Timberwolves News: Anthony Edwards receives “face of the NBA” warning from Draymond Green
Draymond Green commended Anthony Edwards for admitting he doesn’t want to be the face of the NBA. However, the Golden State Warriors forward warned that Edwards might miss his chance to take the mantle.

“To hear Ant-Man say I am capable of being that guy, but I don’t want to be — I agree with him, he is capable of being that guy,” Green said on his podcast. “To be that, though, he has to elevate his game to another level, and he got to be better with his interviews, off-the-court stuff, how he presents himself. And that’s when he’s saying I don’t want to be that guy.”
“If you’re going to be that, right now is the time that you have to be building that. You can’t start trying to be that at 27. I hope he understands the opportunity that’s in front of him and know that it doesn’t come back around,” he added.
