NBA News: When players aren’t able to establish themselves in the NBA, a lot of them decide to play abroad. China is one of the most popular destinations for former NBA players, with the Chinese Basketball Association or the CBA presenting itself as a very viable option.

This could all change, though, after former lottery pick Noah Vonleh detailed his horrific experience with the Shanghai Sharks.

Vonleh, a former No. 9 overall pick, recently went public with his traumatic experience in the CBA. According to the 6-foot-10 big man, his team, the Shanghai Sharks, wanted him to play through an injury. Things turned ugly when he refused to do so.

It got so bad that men came to his hotel room to try and force him out using weapons:

“There’s six people coming to my room trying to break in and grab me out the room. They using weapons to try and break in and threatening me saying all kind of things,” Vonleh wrote.

Vonleh, who last played for the Boston Celtics last year, shared a photo of the supposed “weapon” the men used to attempt to unlock his hotel room door:

    That’s absolutely shocking.

You have to remember, though, that this is just one side of the story. Hopefully, we get a statement from the Sharks to try and explain their behavior. Either way, it sounds like Vonleh’s no longer welcome in Shanghai.
