The Oklahoma City Thunder ended up on top after a fierce shootout against the San Antonio Spurs on the road at Frost Bank Center on Sunday.
The Thunder mostly relied on their 1-2 punch of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams to overcome San Antonio in enemy territory. Gilgeous-Alexander produced 31 points on 10-for-19 shooting from the floor and dished out eight assists in the Thunder’s 146-132 victory.
Williams, on the other hand, paced Oklahoma City with a career-high 41 points on 15-for-24 shooting to go along with seven dimes.

Oklahoma City Thunder duo had a night against the Spurs

With Gilgeous-Alexander and Williams seemingly unstoppable against the Spurs, the two managed to pull off a feat no other duo in the history of the NBA had done before.
Via OptaSTATS:
Of the @okcthunder’s 146 points tonight, 105 were either scored or assisted by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Jalen Williams. Neither of them committed a turnover.
No other NBA teammate duo in the last 40 years has accounted for that many points in a game while having 0 turnovers.
The Thunder’s win can also be credited to their productive bench, with Aaron Wiggins and Alex Caruso combining for 27 points on 10-for-19 shooting.
As a team, Oklahoma City shot 54.5 percent from the floor and hit 19 of its 44 attempts from behind the arc.
Gilgeous-Alexander is clearly the No. 1 weapon and best player of the Thunder, but there’s more to the team than just the former Kentucky Wildcats star, as evidenced by Williams’ huge night against the Spurs.
Now on a three-game win streak, the Thunder will look to keep it going this Monday night when they host the Houston Rockets before taking on the Memphis Grizzlies on the road on Wednesday.
