Pau Gasol’s NBA career

Gasol, now 44 years old, was not just one of the best big men of his generation but among its greatest players as well. He started his NBA career in 2001 when he was selected in the first round of that year’s NBA Draft (third overall) by the Memphis Grizzlies.

He won the 2002 NBA Rookie of the Year award and played for the Grizzlies until 2008 when Memphis traded him to the Lakers for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie, and the rights to Marc Gasol plus a couple of picks in 2008 and 2010.
With the Lakers, Gasol won two NBA titles and became a nine-time All-NBA Team member.
Overall in his career, Gasol, who also suited up for the San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, and Milwaukee Bucks, averaged 17.0 points and 9.2 rebounds while shooting 50.7 percent from the field.
