Unlike his diminished version in the league right now, current Denver Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook used to demolish defenses using his nuclear athleticism and ferocity on the court. Former NBA All-Star big man Roy Hibbert recounted how he was terrorized by the Brodie during his playing days.
Hibbert entered the league when he was drafted 17th overall by the Toronto Raptors in the 2008 Draft. The 7’2″ center was immediately traded to the Indiana Pacers, where he played from 2008 to 2015.

During his time with the Pacers and All-Star wing Paul George, Hibbert emerged as one of the league’s premier defensive centers. He was selected to the 2012 and 2014 NBA All-Star teams and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2014, finishing second in Defensive Player of the Year voting that season.
After leaving the Pacers, Hibbert had stints with the Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, and Denver Nuggets before retiring in 2017. In addition to his professional career, Hibbert also represented the Jamaican national team due to his dual citizenship.
Overall, Hibbert was a dominant interior presence who made a significant impact on the defensive end of the floor. His combination of size, strength, and shot-blocking ability made him a valuable asset for the teams he played for during his NBA career.
Former NBA All-Star Roy Hibbert Recounts How Russell Westbrook Terrorized Him for Years

Even with his towering frame, Hibbert wasn’t able to stop certain players from getting a bucket on him. In a post he shared on his official X account, the former Pacers star recounted how Westbrook got the better of him during his time in the league.
Russell Westbrook Terrorized Me For YEARS… || Roy Hibbert Reacts
New video alert. I was a little apprehensive about making and releasing this video. People that know me know I like to poke fun at myself and not take myself to seriously. But my defense in this video was… pic.twitter.com/C9uyfz53BV

Over the course of his 16-year run in the NBA, Westbrook has averaged 21.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. His accolades include nine All-Star Game appearances, two scoring titles, two All-Star MVPs, and winning the MVP back during the 2016-17 season.

Without a doubt, Westbrook is one of the most dominant players in the NBA during the prime of his career. Even with Hibbert’s hilarious recounting of their encounters, no one can deny how terrorizing the Brodie could get back then.
