NBA executives will reportedly monitor LaMelo Ball’s name in the trade market this summer, as the Charlotte Hornets might consider trading him to another team, per HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.

The Charlotte Hornets haven’t had much success with LaMelo Ball as their point guard in the past five seasons. Ball led the team to two play-in tournaments, the farthest the franchise has gone since their last playoff appearance in 2016.
Ball’s injury history is also why the Charlotte Hornets could consider trading him. He has made only 58 regular season appearances in the past two seasons after playing 51 and 75 games in his first two years in the league.

The former Rookie of the Year averages 26.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 1.2 steals across 38 starts this 2024-25 campaign.
Charlotte Hornets are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference
The Charlotte Hornets have the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference at 14-46, and they’ve lost their last seven games.

They recently suffered a 119-101 loss against the resurgent Golden State Warriors last Monday. Charlotte are 9-22 at home this year.
Miles Bridges had 35 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and four three-pointers on 11-for-20 shooting from the field. LaMelo Ball added 25 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and four three-pointers on 8-for-21 shooting from the field in the losing effort.
