Phoenix Suns swingman Bradley Beal has a unique stipulation in his contract, a no-trade clause that allows him to approve or refuse any potential trade. The stipulation could make it difficult for the Suns’ front office to make an impact in the trade market.
However, there are reports that say Beal is amenable to get traded. Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro reported on Monday that the Suns’ wing would waive his no-trade clause to allow Phoenix to trade him to one of the following teams: the LA Clippers, the LA Lakers, the Denver Nuggets, and the Miami Heat.

Beal’s openness to be traded to Miami actually favors Phoenix Suns governor Mat Ishbia, who wants to acquire Jimmy Butler. The Heat forward has formally requested to be traded out of Miami, and the front office appears to be looking into his request. While they listen to offers from interested teams, they have suspended the six-time NBA All-Star for “conduct detrimental to the team” when he made his desire to be traded out public in an unconventional fashion.
In terms of money, a one-to-one trade between Bradley Beal and Jimmy Butler will work, assuming the Suns swingman opts out of his player option regardless of where he ends up. However, Beal technically still has two more years left on his contract with Phoenix.
According to Sportrac, Beal has a cap hit of $50,203,930 this year, while Butler, who is in the final year of his contract with Miami, has a cap hit of $48,798,677.
Bradley Beal sent to the bench as Suns make changes to their starting lineup
Currently on a four-game losing streak, the Phoenix Suns, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes, are trying to recalibrate by making drastic changes to their starting lineup. Reportedly, these changes include sending Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic to the bench, replacing them with 12-year veteran Mason Plumlee and the 28th overall pick of the 2024 NBA draft Ryan Dunn.
Haynes said that the changes in the starting lineup will take effect in their game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.

Beal has been a starting player in the NBA since he debuted as a rookie for the Washington Wizards in 2012. He started in 46 of the 56 games he played that season.
He had the lowest number of games started during the 2015-16 season, where he had to miss a significant number of games due to injury. He started in only 35 of his 55 appearances.
The three-time NBA All-Star started every game he was eligible to play from the 2016-17 to the 2023-24 season. He had two back-to-back seasons in 2017-18 and 2018-19 where he started in all 82 regular-season contests.
