San Antonio Spurs lead playmaker Chris Paul is reportedly interested in partnering up with Sacramento Kings’ De’Aaron Fox. Rumors abound saying that the Spurs are eyeing Fox amid his contract situation and the Kings’ rough start to the season, and Paul is reportedly in favor of acquiring Sacramento’s star point guard for their team.
Ahead of the 2024-25 season, Fox refused to sign a three-year, $165 million contract extension with the Kings. Signing the deal would have added to the two seasons left on his five-year, $163,000,300 rookie scale contract extension from 2020.
Fox talked about his decision in his guest appearance on “The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis.” He said that he factored in his desire to win in his decision.
“For me, it has all to do with just the team, the organization, where are we going,” Fox said. “I want to make sure that we’re in a position to try to win in the future because that’s ultimately what I want to do.”
Following the Kings’ underwhelming 13-18 start to the season, their front office fired coach Mike Brown. They have since resurged, winning four straight games, but their spot in the playoffs is still not guaranteed.
NBA insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson said in his report on Monday that CP3 would welcome the chance to team up with Fox.
“Something else I’ve heard: Chris Paul would like to team up with De’Aaron Fox in San Antonio,” Robinson said.

Chris Paul has proven to be a strong fit for the Spurs, playing the role of a veteran leader and playmaker. However, with him turning 40 in May, he might not figure in the long-term plans of the franchise.
Chris Paul made history against the Bulls
Chris Paul made history on Monday night as he played his 1,308th career game against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center. That game currently moves him ahead of Buck Williams, taking his 20th spot in the all-time list of NBA players with the most career games played.
After Williams, the next player for CP3 to pass is Jamal Crawford, who played 1,327 career games.
The NBA’s official X account posted a graphic featuring the list of all-time “total games played” leaders, congratulating Paul on his historic achievement.
