Isaiah Stewart and the Detroit Pistons are two names that have not been mentioned too much in the rumor mill when it comes to trade speculations. As the NBA trade deadline looms, the Pistons may be considering their play and trade options closely, and Stweart may be one of the Piston’s most sight-after assets.
Per a recent report, the Indiana Pacers are reportedly looking for a backup center from the trade market. Among those who would be eligible for trade, the Pistons could offer Isaiah Stewart.
After all, the Isaiah Stewart and Jalen Duren pair that the Pistons attempted to build but did not seem to work consistently.
Bucks Give Honest Opinion on Isaiah Stewart Flagrant 2 Foul
During a game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Detroit Pistons earlier in November, Isaiah Stewart was ejected from the game as he was called a Flagrant 2 foul on Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Videos of the said violation showed Stewart pulling Giannis as the latter attempted a layup. The pull was so strong that the Bucks star fell to the floor. Stewart was called for a Flagrant 2 foul, which warranted an immediate ejection from the game.
In an interview, Giannis mentioned that the experience did not faze him, but he still thinks that what Stewart did was “not a basketball play.”
“I’ve been in that position many times in my life,” Antetokounmpo said after the game. “I have two older brothers that pushed me on the floor, were tough on me. It doesn’t really faze me anymore. All I could think about was, ‘Get up and make two free throws.’ At the same time it’s a dangerous play. It’s not a basketball play.”
Bucks head coach Doc Rivers also shared his insight on the foul and the ejection. The gesture, as he described it, fired up the Bucks and made the game a ”war” for them.
“We were starting a run and then that play took us to another level,” Bucks head coach Doc Rivers said. “It almost told us OK, this is a war and we’re gonna go get it. It’s amazing how little things like that can change a game. And it also took a guy that was very valuable for them off the floor. So that was important as well.”
Isaiah Stewart was sent to the locker room after the foul. Bucks fans called for his suspension, but no ruling from the league has determined any suspension so far.
