Paul George, small forward for the Philadelphia 76ers may soon be saying goodbye to the team after the Atlanta Hawks are reportedly showing interest in the 34-year-old. As per a tweet by ‘Basketball Forever’ on X, the Atlanta Hawks were quite eager to get George on their squad for the current season but did not make a move to do so.
With George’s poor performance in the ongoing NBA season, the Philadelphia 76ers might be ready to wash their hands off the player and revamp their roster. This could forge a path for the Atlanta Hawks to attain Paul George, which will be interesting for their next NBA season.
Paul George has been playing in the NBA since 2010 after being selected by the Indiana Pacers as the tenth overall pick in the very first round of the draft. Since then, George has played for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers before moving to the Philadelphia 76ers for the current season.
It is a fact that George or PG-13 has been performing poorly in the ongoing NBA season, averaging only 16.2 points in each game, grabbing 5.3 rebounds and assisting 4.3 times per matchup. The numbers are far below George’s performance from previous years, or even his previous season where he averaged 22.6 points per game for the LA Clippers.

Paul George is currently out for the season after suffering a groin injury last month. George’s injury only added salt to Philadelphia’s wounds after the already struggling team had to bench other star players as well, including Joel Embiid after a knee injury.
Paul George’s Philadelphia 76ers To Meet New York Knicks In Next Game
On another note, Paul George’s Philadelphia 76ers will be soon locking horns with the New York Knicks for their next game of the season. As of now, the 76ers are third-last in the Eastern Conference after winning 23 games and losing 52 so far.

The Philadelphia 76ers are coming to this matchup against the Knicks after being crushed by the Toronto Raptors with a final score of 127-109. Against the Knicks, Philadelphia’s offense was led by Lonnie Walker IV who chalked up 23 points for the team, grabbing three rebounds and assisting seven times, while Jalen Hood-Schifino managed to put up 18 more points for the team, with a pair of boards and five helpers.

After meeting the New York Knicks, the Philadelphia 76ers will be taking on the Milwaukee Bucks for their next game. The 76ers are presently riding a shabby eight-game losing streak, and are eager to shake this bad mojo off.
