New York Knicks forward Josh Hart recently went viral for throwing shade at the New Orleans Pelicans. During a recent episode of The Roommates podcast with Jalen Brunson and Lil Wayne, the 29-year-old said he doesn’t think he’ll hear someone say “they were excited to be traded to New Orleans.”
This drew angry reactions from New Orleans Pelicans fans, especially since Hart was traded to the team in 2019 as part of the Anthony Davis trade to the Los Angeles Lakers. However, Josh Hart backtracked his comments.
“I was traded from LA to Nola lol But I loved my time in Nola though,” Hart posted on his X (formerly known as Twitter).
“Dang, my Nola people don’t be mad at me cause I said I wasn’t excited to get traded to Nola. Once I got there yall showed me love and I loved my time there. It’s all love lol,” he added.
Josh Hart played two and a half seasons for the New Orleans Pelicans before going to the Portland Trail Blazers as part of the CJ McCollum trade in 2022. Fast forward to today, and Hart is now with the New York Knicks, a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference.
Dejounte Murray “can’t relate” to Josh Hart’s New Orleans Pelicans take
New Orleans Pelicans guard Dejounte Murray fired back on Josh Hart’s diss, saying that “he had been smiling” since he arrived in the Big Easy via a trade with the Atlanta Hawks.
Earlier this offseason, Murray was shipped to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Dyson Daniels, EJ Liddell, Larry Nance Jr., Cody Zeller, and two future first-round picks.
With the addition of Murray, New Orleans is better equipped to compete in the Western Conference next season, especially if Zion Williamson stays healthy.
