Although the New Orleans Pelicans are likely to be a lottery team rather than a part of the 2025 NBA Playoffs, Zion Williamson is making it hard for fans to ignore him, especially with his great performances on the court of late.
Take for example Tuesday night’s 127-120 victory at home against Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers in which the former Duke Blue Devils star recorded just his second career triple-double.
Zion Williamson goes full Chris Paul in New Orleans Pelicans win on Tuesday

Williamson helped the Pels snap a four-game losing skid by dropping 22 points on an 8-for-13 shooting from the field, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in just 33 minutes of action. That was the second triple-double in Williamson’s NBA career, which put him in a stellar stat club with Chris Paul, one of the greatest players to play for the franchise.

Williamson’s first career NBA triple-double happened not too long ago. He had 27 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds while going 13-for-17 from the field in only 31 minutes of action during a 124-116 victory over the Phoenix Suns on the road on Feb. 27.
But Williamson didn’t also carry the Pelicans past the Clippers on his own. He got ample help from CJ McCollum, who had 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting, while three players came off the bench and scored at least 11 points each.

As long as he’s healthy and motivated, Williamson will be tough for opposing teams to deal with on both ends of the floor, especially now that he’s seemingly trying to locate his teammates on offense and set them up for good looks at the basket.
On the season, the former top-pick overall is averaging 24.4 points, 7.3 boards and 5.3 dimes per outing.
