The New York Knicks have high expectations from their fans. They made a significant change in their roster before the start of the 2024-25 NBA season, acquiring All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns. However, experts haven’t been impressed with what the Knicks have done so far in their campaign.
According to former NBA star DeMarcus Cousins, New York has not lived up to the hype. On Sunday, Cousins talked about his realization about the Knicks’ roster on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back.”
“We’ve been bamboozled, man,” Cousins said. “We sat here and allowed the Knicks to put together a championship college team and try to run it back in the NBA.

“When they initially did, we thought it was a good idea. Now, we look at it and they look like an average team.
“That’s literally what it is,” Cousins continued. “I think they have a talented starting five. But it’s just not enough. It’s not enought for what they’re matching up with in the East. It’s not enough for the top dogs in the East as far as contending.”

The former NBA star went on to talk about how the Knicks will remain a “good team” and not exceed their expectations.
The team is third in the Eastern Conference with a 40-20 record. The Knicks have not performed well defensively, as they rank 19th in the league. However, they’ve tried to make up for their mistake by being one of the top offensive teams. New York is fourth in the NBA when it comes to executing their offense.
New York Knicks center finally made his season debut

Fans of the New York Knicks have been anticipating Mitchell Robinson’s regular season debut. Against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, that finally occurred. Following his recuperation from lower body operations, Robinson participated in his first game of the season.
Against the Grizzlies, the coaching staff was cautious with the time he spent on the floor. He just played 12 minutes and finished with six points and five rebounds, so it was brief. Following the game, head coach Tom Thibodeau discussed the team’s longest-tenured player’s comeback.
“The first game back, for the amount of time he’s been out, I thought it was really, really good. We’ve been seeing it in practice too. So this is the next step,” said Thibodeau.
On Sunday, he played in his second game of the season for 13 minutes against the Miami Heat. Robinson finished with two points and two rebounds.
