New York Knicks fans are spoiled when it comes to their team’s most recent playoff performances. After years of seeing their team struggle to even make a dent in the playoffs, it’s a great change of scenery to see the Knicks playing dominant basketball reminiscent of their run in the 90s.

Their series-clinching win against the Philadelphia 76ers is the latest treat to a fanbase that’s still getting used to their team dominating in the playoffs. Jalen Brunson put up legendary numbers in the win as the rest of the Knicks didn’t allow the Sixers to force a Game 7 at the Garden.

After the team won such a close battle against the Sixers, fans understandably went ballistic in their celebrations.

New York Knicks fans made their presence felt throughout the close Game 6 win

Brian Lewis of the New York Post wrote about the activities of Knicks fans at the Wells Fargo Center throughout Game 6.

While there were only around 15% of Knicks fans present in the area, they made sure to make their presence felt throughout the game. They chanted and sang throughout the game, making Joel Embiid aware that they’re going to be loud the same way they were in Game 4.

Tom Thibodeau talked about playing in such a hostile crowd while also having plenty of Knicks fans in attendance:

“Philly’s a great sports town, great. I coached here a couple of years a long time ago and their fans are great. It’s a great basketball city in terms of great high school basketball, great college basketball and a great pro team with a rich history. So it’s a great atmosphere to be in.

“And then of course I think the proximity to New York we ended up having a lot of fans here as well. We feel we have the best fans in the world. They travel well, so they go with us wherever we go. But it was great to play in that atmosphere where there’s so much passion amongst the fans.”

The chanting did wonders as the Knicks were on fire throughout the game. Every started scored in double digits, with Brunson’s 41 leading the way.

Thibs, Brunson, and the rest of the Knicks will hope that the fans will show up the same way they did when they face Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semi-FInal.
