The New York Knicks know that they’re one of the bigger favorites to make the 2025 Finals. While it’s also clear that they’re not favorites to the level of the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Boston Celtics.
They are a lock to make the postseason, but their recent form has been nothing but alarming. Three of the last four games they have played ended in losses, and these defeats were against teams they should be able to take down if they want to make a deep postseason run.

Josh Hart didn’t hold back, saying that the team has done but play embarrassingly in front of their fans. He soon detailed why he he thinks his teammates should wake up and work to finish the season strongly.

Heavy Sports’ Adam Taylor reported on the Villanova alum’s frustrations with his team, detailing in what ways his team has disappointed the fans:
“We’re not doing what it takes, we’re not doing the extra effort, we’re not giving energy. And we’re crying to refs…We can be more aggressive defensively on the ball. We can be more assertive offensively. Not being stagnant, communicating better. I think we got outrebounded by 14 today. A lot of that is effort. None of that takes talent. None of that is schemes and those kinds of things.”
Their most recent loss highlighted the team’s struggles. While Jalen Brunson’s absence played a part in the loss, Tom Thibodeau’s squad had to rely on their starters to make the game competitive against the Charlotte Hornets.
Cameron Payne was the only player in the bench who scored more than two points. Hart, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns had to put together a long shift just to lose against the lowly Hornets.

Of course, things will change once their star guard returns from his ankle injury. However, the team must step up for the remaining games of the season if they want to finish the regular season strongly.
