The New York Knicks are almost a lock to make the postseason with their current roster. While some of their most recent games have been unsatisfactory, Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns have done a brilliant job to keep the team’s status as one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
However, they cannot stay complacent on their laurels, as the most recent game against the Memphis Grizzlies reminded Knicks fans just how vulnerable the team is.

Their failure to put a comfortable lead around them when KAT struggled to make his shots should serve as a warning sign to Tom Thibodeau, despite another impressive game from Brunson.
While New York fans are stressing with the current state of their team, an interaction between their star man and the referee during the game shows fans that there’s still fun to see while worrying about the team’s postseason form.
Jalen Brunson’s joke made a referee laugh during the New York Knicks’ narrow win over Memphis

The referees had to address a coach’s challenge during the Knicks’ 114-113 win over the Grizzlies. After the referees deliberated on the incident, referee Bill Kennedy took to the microphone to announce the decision.
It was during this time that Brunson made his strike, per ClutchPoints’ Nathan Yasis:
“After reviewing the play, the out-of-bounds call has been overturned, there is an approximate foul charged to Hart, resulting in Memphis retaining the ball, ” Kennedy began as usual reviews do.
At that moment, Kennedy burst into laughter, visibly reacting to something Brunson did off-camera. As the Knicks guard passed behind him, Kennedy turned to look his way, still grinning.
“… And going the full length of the court,” Kennedy finished, glancing back at the camera with a grin. “The coach’s challenge is successful.”
While we may never know what joke Brunson said, it made a rather tense situation light for Kennedy and the rest of the crowd who had the chance to hear him.

Brunson had a great game for New York, finishing with 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
