Stephen A. Smith is a self-declared New York Knicks superfan. The ESPN anchor has not let his position as a renowned NBA analyst get in the way of his fandom for his beloved Knicks.
Be that as it may, even Stephen A. himself knows that New York will have a major problem facing off against the Philadelphia 76ers this coming season, especially now that they have their new Big 3.
New York Knicks News: Stephen A. Smith Sounds Off on Philadelphia 76ers’ Big 3
Smith believes in Philly’s new superstar trio. The ESPN anchor argued that so long as Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George are able to go out there and do what they’re supposed to do, then the Sixers are going to be a real problem:
“Embiid on one leg averaged 35 against the Knicks,” Smith said. “… We know that Tyrese Maxey is special. … If what Paul George is what Paul George is supposed to be… Maxey, Embiid, and Paul George, as much as I love my Knicks — orange and blue skies, baby — they don’t come before Philly and Boston.”

Smith also pointed out that the defending champs Boston Celtics are at a different level and that Jayson Tatum and Co. are still the biggest threats to the title for 2024-25. However, Stephen A. has also come to terms with the fact that his Knicks face a major challenge in having to go toe-to-toe with the new-look Sixers.
