Over the years, All-Star guard Jalen Brunson has established himself as an elite player who has turned the tide for the New York Knicks. This prompted New York legend Aaron Judge to acknowledge the former Dallas Mavericks rookie by sending him an epic surprise.
Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Brunson was raised there until sixth grade before his family settled in Lincolnshire, Illinois, where he played his high school career at Stevenson High School. Brunson had a successful college career at Villanova University, where he was named the National Player of the Year as a junior and won two national championships.
After being drafted by the Mavericks in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft, Brunson spent his first four seasons in the league with the Mavericks. He initially served as a sixth man before becoming a key contributor, helping the Mavericks reach the Western Conference finals in 2022. Brunson then signed with the New York Knicks as a free agent that offseason.
With the Knicks, Brunson has continued to improve, becoming an NBA All-Star and earning an All-NBA Second Team selection in 2024. He has set several NBA records, including the most three-pointers made in a half without a miss. Brunson’s combination of skill, basketball IQ, and leadership has made him one of the league’s top point guards.
New York Knicks All-Star Guard Jalen Brunson Receives Awesome Surprise From Aaron Judge
Brunson’s rising star in the NBA has made him more noticeable, especially in the Big Apple. This is evident in a video shared by Knicks Videos on X, which saw the New York guard receive a pair from Judge.

Last season, Brunson averaged 28.7 points on almost 49 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent from deep, 3.6 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. He also finished fifth in the MVP race, one which Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic won.
As a result of his efforts, Brunson led the Knicks to a second-place finish in the Eastern Conference and his first All-Star game appearance earlier this year. If all goes well and he gets to continue his momentum, there’s a good chance the All-Star guard can lead New York back to the playoffs.
