Josh Hart from the New York Knicks has something to say about the ongoing issue regarding professional track and field player Noah Lyles. The Tokyo bronze medalist athlete recently won a gold medal in the 100m at the 2024 Paris Olympics in a close contest.
Hart replied straight to an X (formerly Twitter) user’s post who wanted to see how Lyles would manage at the 200-meter run. He made a hilarious reaction to the track and field star’s new gold, saying that he can now give an opinion whenever he wants since he has something to prove.
“Lol nah he an Olympic gold medalist. He can talk for life,” Hart posts.
Everyone who’s watched the 100-meter run never expected Lyles to emerge as the winner. In the same event, he nearly lost against Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson by a minuscule .005 seconds. Suppose it wasn’t for the recording (and Lyles’ torso protruding first at the finish line). In that case, it’d be Jamaica’s representative who’d win the gold medal.
The X user said that the people would once more gather to see the track and field athlete play in the 200-meter run. In 2020, Lyles won a bronze medal in Tokyo in the same event.
Noah Lyles recently gained attention after he shared his insights about how NBA players are considered “world champions.” He argued that the basketball league is composed of major American and Canadian cities competing against each other, so players don’t have any right to be called world’s most remarkable.
Nevertheless, Lyles’ recent victory earned him the respect of NBA legends Magic Johnson and Dwayne Wade. Hart, who once said that he wasn’t a fan of Josh due to the NBA opinion, posts “Respect.”
New York Knicks’ past season: how did they fare well?
Hart’s NBA team finished second in the regular conference last season. However, due to injuries, the Knicks lost three-four to the Indiana Pacers in the NBA playoff semifinals.
Last season, Hart played 81 games and averaged 9.4 points, 4.1 assists, and 8.3 rebounds. In his second postseason, he surpassed most of his records, averaging 14.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 11.5 rebounds.
Some of the New York Knicks’ stars, like Julius Randle, remain injured during this offseason. However, the team also managed to add Keita Bates-Diop and Mikal Bridges through a trade with the Brooklyn Nets.
