The New York Knicks are determined to bolster their roster ahead of the 2024-25 season, as they continue to scour the open market. After acquiring Mikal Bridges and Keita Bates-Diop and re-signing OG Anunoby on a new five-year contract, the team looks far from done making moves.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the New York Knicks plan to improve their outside shooting, as a whole, by trying to bring in Davis Bertans, who shoots 40 percent from three-point range in his NBA career.
“The New York Knicks are among the teams who’ve expressed interest in signing free agent Davis Bertans, league sources told HoopsHype. Bertans has shot 39.6 percent from three-point range in his career and played for Latvia in the FIBA Olympics Qualifying Tournament,” Scotto posted on his X (formerly known as Twitter).

Davis Bertans played 28 regular season games for the Charlotte Hornets in 2023-24, averaging 8.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 37.5 percent from three-point land in 20.8 minutes of action. The 31-year-old Latvian international became a free agent when he was waived by the Charlotte Hornets recently.
New York Knicks could bring back Precious Achiuwa
Ian Begley of SNY recently revealed that the New York Knicks have “kept in touch” with Precious Achiuwa, an unrestricted free agent, for a potential reunion this offseason. He could be an option if they ultimately don’t pursue Davis Bertans.

The 24-year-old center joined the New York Knicks via the blockbuster OG Anunoby trade last season. Precious Achiuwa played 49 regular season games (18 starts), averaging 7.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 24.2 minutes per game.
The New York Knicks can sign Precious Achiuwa using the $5.2 million taxpayer mid-level exception they acquired through the Mikal Bridges trade.
