The New York Knicks cooled down on Tuesday night, with Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors coming away with a 114-102 victory at Madison Square Garden. Curry has always enjoyed success against the Knicks, and it seems nothing has changed on that front.
He lit up the Knicks for 28 points on 10-for-21 shooting from the floor, including five 3-pointers on nine attempts. He also had nine assists and seven rebounds, plus two steals in 33 minutes of all-around brilliance.
Following the game, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau shared his thoughts on the greatness of Curry with the ball.
“It’s who he is,” Thibodeau said of Curry during the postgame press conference (h/t Antonio Losada of SB Nation). “He’s done it everywhere. I had the opportunity to coach him with Team USA. When you get to see how he prepares and just the little nuances to his game, it’s not an accident. Sometimes when he’s shooting, you don’t realize the subtleties — how he creates separation, how quick his release is, and how well-balanced he always is. He’s a terrific shot-maker.”
New York Knicks’ streak ended by the Warriors

With the Knicks missing the services of star big man Karl-Anthony Towns, who was out for personal reasons, New York lacked one of its most dangerous offensive weapons. Mitchell Robinson started in lieu of Towns, but he only played 15 minutes, scoring seven points and grabbing five boards.
Meanwhile, OG Anunoby paced the Knicks with 29 points, while Jalen Brunson added 25. Josh Hart did not have it against the Dubs, going just 1-for-8 from the field before finishing with two points, though, he had eight board and three dimes.
The loss to Golden State was the Knicks’ first in four games, so they will look to bounce back on Thursday when they start a five-leg road trip against the Los Angeles Lakers.
