Joel Embiid and Kyle Lowry have been two of the most vocal voices inside the Philadelphia 76ers, as revealed by their head coach Nick Nurse.
The 76ers are not having it easy this season. They have capable and reliable players on their roster, but most of them have been plagued with injury woes for the most part of the season so far, resulting in them suffering a 3-13 standing in the Eastern Conference.
In a recent press conference, Sixers head coach Nick Nurse was asked if there are people standing up and leading the team during these hard times, outside of the coaching staff. Nurse had two names to drop: Joel Embiid and Kyle Lowry.
“Those two guys, Kyle and Joel, are trying to make that the guys understand what they’re doing and making sure that getting things ironed out,” the coach said. “You know if there’s any questions about anything, they need more detail, whatever it is.”

Is Joel Embiid the Sixers’ Snitch? Sportsbooks Think So
With reports of the locker room conversation between the Sixers leaked, the easy conclusion is someone would have been the source of the news, as reporters cannot simply whip up a story that players like Paul George and Tyrese Maxey have already confirmed to be real and something that happened. While the witchhunt for the supposed snitch is not that active, it did not stop sportsbooks from making this issue a betting topic as well.
In an odds list released by sportsbook and betting platform Bovada, Joel Embiid was listed as the top favorite “on who will be revealed as the ‘snitch’ in the Sixers’ locker room,” with odds of -110. This, of course, does not reflect anything about the issue, but more about the bookies attempting to stir up more talk and ride along the hype of whatever is the current hot topic.
Embiid had expressed his disappointment over the leak, calling the leaker a “real piece of s–t.”
Former Sixers shooting guard Lou Williams also shared his thoughts on the issue of the leaked locker room meeting, and how the idea of someone leaking what was supposed to be a closed-door meeting is bothering.
“When things like this happen, you want to know who you can’t trust,” Williams said, talking on the “Run It Back” program. “Once these things start going out to the media, you just want to know who you can trust and who you can communicate with. And I think that’s what makes it more of a thing than anything.”
Joel Embiid remained out other game as per the latest injury report, but coach Nick Nurse said “says he’s feeling a little better.”
