Seattle Storm guard Nika Muhl praised her former UConn teammate KK Arnold following their dominant 77-45 road win over Marquette on Thursday. The Huskies guard delivered an incredible performance off the bench, helping her team secure the win in their first game of 2025.
A Wisconsin native, Arnold had a successful homecoming. She came off the bench and played for 23 minutes, contributing 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting and seven assists to help the Huskies dominate the Golden Eagles.
Impressed by her former teammate’s performance, Nika Muhl shared a highlight video of Anold’s homecoming game in her Instagram story. “Luh PG,” Muhl’s caption said.
KK Arnold was a rookie during Muhl’s final season with UConn. She is currently averaging 4.7 points, 3.0 assists, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 22 average minutes for the Huskies, who are now 12-2 in the season.
Meanwhile, Muhl had limited minutes in her rookie season in the WNBA. the 14th overall pick of the Storm in the second round, she only played 16 games, averaging four minutes per game.
Nika Muhl promises to return better after her knee injury
Looking to develop her game during the WNBA offseason, Nika Muhl decided to play in Turkey. However, her campaign was cut short by a season-ending knee injury.
Muhl was injured on Oct. 3 during the game between her ball club Besiktas and Fenerbahce in the FIBA SuperCup. Late in the third quarter of that game, she picked off a pass and was about to dash for a fastbreak when her left leg seemingly gave out, causing her to scream in pain. She was immediately stretchered off the court.
The Croatian point guard underwent a successful surgery on Nov. 1 and is now rehabilitating her surgically repaired knee. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Muhl shared her frame of mind and vowed to come back stronger after the injury.
“Anyone that knows me knows I work my a** off all the time. This time isn’t gonna be any different,” Muhl said. “This is just another opportunity for me to compete, this time against myself. Not to be cocky, but that’s an easy W.”

There is no definite timetable for Nika Muhl’s return to the WNBA, but it is highly likely that the 23-year-old point guard will miss the entire 2024-25 regular season on May 16 as she continues to recover from her injury.
