Nika Muhl, Seattle Storm point guard, recently attended the season finale game between the UConn Huskies and the Marquette Golden Eagles on Sunday. Muhl is a product of UConn and even after moving to the WNBA with Seattle, has continued to be a strong supporter of her alma mater.
On Sunday, the UConn Huskies finished their regular season successfully by defeating the Marquette Golden Eagles with an impressive 92-57. Against Marquette, UConn’s superstar, Paige Bueckers chalked up 19 points to lead the team, grabbing four rebounds and assisting seven times. Sarah Strong added another 17 points, while Azzi Fudd managed to contribute 12 points in the winning effort.
The night was indeed splendid for the UConn Huskies and their fans, and Nika Muhl’s presence at the game only added to the excitement of it all. Muhl not only graced her former team with her presence during one of their most important games, but also engaged with fans, taking several selfies with them.

Nika Muhl played college basketball for the UConn Huskies from 2020 to 2024. In the 2024 WNBA draft, Muhl was selected by the Seattle Storm as the 14th overall pick, and quickly became an integral part of the squad. In her first season for the Storm, Muhl managed a 0.1 point average per game, with 0.6 rebounds and 0.4 helpers in every clash played.

Not only were the fans of the UConn Huskies delighted with Nika Muhl’s presence, but even Paige Bueckers seemed delighted. Muhl in fact wore a Bueckers jersey to the game and even captioned her story signifying their ‘twin-like’ relationship. Bueckers responded to Muhl’s Instagram story, writing ‘twin’ and adding a blue heart emoji after that.

After defeating the Marquette Golden Eagles, the UConn Huskies will be on their way to play in the Big East Tournament later this weekend. The UConn Huskies played this regular season in a fantastic manner and finished first in the Big East with a 18-0 conference score, and 28-3 overall. Meanwhile, the Creighton Bluejays are one spot lower in the table with a 16-2 conference score and 24-5 overall.

As they finish the regular season on a high note, the UConn Huskies are currently enjoying a seven-game winning streak. Under Geno Auriemma’s coaching, the Huskies are proving to be a formidable squad right now, especially with Paige Bueckers leading their offense.
