Nika Muhl has not only been catching people’s eye on the basketball court, she has also made waves in the fashion world recently. The Seattle Storm star had signed a deal to be the ambassador for Under Armour, and she also made news when she walked the Paris Fashion Week runway for Kayelise, a brand created by Connecticut Sun forward Olivia Nelson-Ododa, who she teamed with at UConn during their college days.
Nelson-Ododa, who currently plays for the Shanxi Flame in the Chinese Women’s Basketball Association, chose her friend Muhl to model her brand on its Paris Fashion Week debut, which coincides with International Women’s Day. She took to social media to share her excitement as her former teammate exceeded her expectations.
“SHE IS THE [expletive] MOMENT,” exclaimed Nelson-Odada in her Instagram story featuring the footage of Nika Mühl elegantly gracing the Paris Fashion Week catwalk.
Muhl and Nelson-Ododa were teammates at UConn from 2020 to 2022. They share a similar path to the WNBA as they were both second-round picks.

Outside basketball, the two share another common denominator in the fashion world when they collaborated during the Paris Fashion Week.
Nika Muhl and Olivia Nelson-Ododa were both LeagueFits All-Star starters
The Paris Fashion Week was not the first time Nika Muhl and Olivia Nelson-Ododa collaborated on a fashion-centric project. In 2024, the two former UConn stars were selected as starters for the LeagueFits campaign, which celebrated the best pre-game outfits in the WNBA.

Their inclusion had led to their former UConn teammate Paige Bueckers to call their school the “school of fashion” in one of her Instagram stories.

Both Muhl and Nelson-Ododa are gaining critical experience to improve their status in the WNBA, and Bueckers is set to join the professional league in a couple of months.
