The Notre Dame Fighting Irish standout guard Olivia Miles is forgoing the WNBA draft and entering the transfer portal. The 22-year-old top prospect decided to use her one year remaining in college instead of the draft.
Miles was the projected No. 2 pick in this year’s WNBA draft. The 5-10 senior averaged 15.4 ppg, 5.6 rpg, and 5.8 apg this season.
Rumors are Swirling about Miles and TCU

Texas Christian University (TCU) is currently positioned as the leading candidate to acquire Notre Dame transfer Olivia Miles, according to Skim Milkey. Miles has the potential to collaborate effectively with center Sedona Prince, who is anticipated to return to TCU to continue her competitive endeavors following their Elite Eight exit. Prince has been granted an additional year of eligibility as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Olivia not only has the opportunity to complete her degree, but she also gains the ability to take control of her future. Her potential earnings from college basketball, facilitated by Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals, may surpass those available in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
This decision is confusing because Miles’ stock will likely never be higher than now; the drafts in 2026 and 2027 are stronger than in 2025. Players like Lauren Betts and Flau’jae Johnson (if she stays) are sure to be drafted ahead. If Miles’ flaws are exposed in another college season or she gets injured, players like Azzi Fudd and Juju Watkins could be drafted near or ahead of her.
