Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been getting hate for his seemingly excessive free throw attempts, but teammate Jalen Williams is not having any of it.

According to Williams, Gilgeous-Alexander should “go to the free throw line more” because of his aggressive and crafty play style that often catches defenders off guard.
“He honestly should go to the free-throw line more. He leads the NBA in drives, and we’re like the lowest free-throw shooting team in the NBA. I think there are like six or seven people ahead of him that shoot more free throws. But because the media doesn’t like certain ways he gets fouled, that gets pushed. Just watch the games,” Williams said about Gilgeous-Alexander on The Young Man & the Three podcast.

Gilgeous-Alexander is on pace to win his first league MVP award since he leads the NBA in scoring (32.7 points per game). Free throws are a huge part of his offense, as he averages 7.9 makes on 8.8 attempts per contest.
