Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is one of the top contenders for the MVP award for carrying his team this season.

Gilgeous-Alexander dropped 51 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder past the Houston Rockets for its 50th regular season win last Monday. He followed it up with a 41-point performance against the Memphis Grizzlies last night in the 120-103 victory.
The three-time NBA All-Star recently received a ringing endorsement from his fellow Canadian Steve Nash, who won the league MVP twice in 2005 and 2006.

“I would say Shai right now for me is, I think he’s the MVP this year. I think he’s just an incredible leader for his team, with great high character, 30 points a game, high efficiency—almost impossible to defend in isolation,” Nash said via Josh Donaldson of Flashscore.
Oklahoma City Thunder look to clinch playoff spot
The Cleveland Cavaliers are the first team to clinch their playoff spot after beating the Miami Heat yesterday for their 52nd win of the 2024-25 regular season, and the Oklahoma City Thunder are next in line.

Oklahoma City are on a five-game winning streak and have a winnable game at home against the Portland Trail Blazers this Friday night.
The team missed the services of Chet Holmgren (leg) and Alex Caruso (ankle) last Wednesday, and they hope to have them back as soon as possible.
