Even outside of the NBA, Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant can still dominate on the global stage after he broke Lisa Leslie’s Team USA scoring record in the Olympics. This prompted Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry to congratulate his teammate for adding another feather to his cap.
Durant has etched his name in the record books as the United States’ all-time leading Olympic scorer. During the Americans’ quarterfinal game against Brazil on Tuesday, The Phoenix Suns forward surpassed basketball legend Lisa Leslie’s previous record of 376 points.
Durant’s basket with 6:04 left in the third quarter gave him 377 career points in Olympic competition, a new U.S. record. The Suns star finished the game with 18 points, bringing his total to 382 points across four Olympic appearances.
The All-Star forward is now chasing his fourth Olympic gold medal after being part of the victorious U.S. teams in 2012, 2016, and 2020. He emphasized his singular focus on winning another championship for the red, white, and blue.
With his consistent production and leadership, Durant has cemented his status as one of the greatest U.S. Olympic basketball players of all time. His latest record-breaking achievement is a testament to his sustained excellence and passion for representing his country on the global stage.

Apart from scoring the most points in the Olympics for the United States, Durant has also won two NBA championships, two Finals MVPs, one regular season MVP, Rookie of the Year in 2008, four scoring titles, and 14 All-Star Game appearances throughout his career in the league.
