Even at his age, Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant can still take over a game, much like what he did for Team USA against Serbia in the Olympics. His performance has made jaws drop everywhere, including those of former NBA champion Dwyane Wade.
The highly anticipated matchup between the USA and Serbia in the 2024 Men’s Olympic Basketball Tournament in Paris was a showcase of basketball excellence. Despite Serbia’s early 10-2 lead, the star-studded USA team, led by the unstoppable duo of Kevin Durant and LeBron James, quickly found their stride.

Durant, who was under scrutiny for a calf injury earlier in the summer, silenced all doubters with a remarkable first-half performance. He scored 21 points, making all 8 of his field goal attempts, including five three-pointers. James also shot a perfect 100% from the field before the break, as the USA built a 9-point lead at halftime.
In the second half, the American team continued to dominate, opening up a 19-point advantage after 30 minutes of play. The final score of 110-84 in favor of the USA was a testament to their offensive firepower and defensive intensity.
Although Serbia put up a valiant effort, led by Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic‘s 20 points and 8 assists, they were no match for the sheer brilliance of Durant and James. The 27,000 fans at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium witnessed a true display of world-class basketball, leaving no doubt about the USA’s status as the team to beat in the tournament.
Miami Heat Legend Dwyane Wade in Awe of Kevin Durant’s Team USA Performance Against Serbia in Olympics

After the game, various personalities gave their respective take on Durant’s performance against Serbia. Among them was Wade, in a tweet he posted on his official X account.
“I’m sitting here thinking about what KD just did tonite. I just watch one of the greatest basketball moments in my life time. 🫡 Living Legend!” Wade tweeted.
All throughout his NBA career, Durant has been known to be a deadly scorer at all three levels of the court. He has also won two championships, two Finals MVP, two All-Star Game MVPs, 14 All-Star selections, and four scoring titles, among others.

After spending some time recovering from an injury, Durant is back to help Team USA win the gold in Paris. If he succeeds and plays a huge part in making that happen, Wade and basketball fans all around the world will be left in awe of him.
