For the first time in his professional career, Stephen Curry just played and won a game in his first Olympics. After the match, the Golden State Warriors superstar gave a review on how Team USA performed against Serbia.

The United States men’s basketball team dominated Serbia with a score of 110-84 in their opening game at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Led by stars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry, the American squad showcased their offensive firepower, pulling away in the second half for a convincing victory.

James and Durant were particularly impressive, contributing 22 and 19 points respectively. The Serbian team, featuring three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, put up a fight but ultimately couldn’t match the depth and talent of the United States’ roster. Devin Booker and Joel Embiid also made key contributions for the Americans, who demonstrated why they are the heavy favorites to win gold in Paris.

The victory sets the stage for the U.S. men’s basketball team to make a run at their fourth consecutive Olympic title. With a mix of veteran leadership and rising young stars, they appear poised to continue the country’s basketball dominance on the global stage. As the Olympics progress, all eyes will be on this powerhouse squad as they aim to cement their legacy as one of the greatest men’s basketball teams in history.

After the game, Curry answered several questions from the media. In an article written by Aris Barkas for Eurohoops, the Warriors All-Star guard shared what he thought of Team USA’s performance against Serbia.

“Serbia is a great team,” Curry said. “They run a very intricate offense and very physical defense. KD was unbelievable in the first half and gave us a huge boost. And then our defense in the second half opened the game. We’re still trying to fill an identity around who we are with this 12-man group and it’s important to stay focused on not just getting a win but how we do it.”

“You know from team to team it requires a different strategy,” Curry also mentioned. “You can pick any of the five out of us 12. It’s an all -star Hall of Fame lineup out there. We just have to play like it so it’s important to stay focused.

Curry, James, and Durant are just three members of Team USA but they’re considered the most decorated and experienced among their peers. They are joined by key guys in the NBA, such as Joel Embiid, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Bam Adebayo, Jrue Holiday, and Jayson Tatum, among others.

While Team USA’s win over Serbia was definitely commendable, their journey to a gold medal finish is just getting started. If they managed to fulfill what Curry said in his assessment, no team in the Olympics will be able to withstand them.
